Looking for 2010 ride-buddy ?

Postby Exie on Sat Sep 05, 2009 10:04 am

Hi,

I sooo wanted to do this in 2009 but I left it all too late. Not so for 2010!

About me...
I'm of average fitness(currently) and intermediate MTB experience, > 30yo and looking for a fellow rider to team up with for 2010.

My Plan...
To be honest, theres no hope of "winning" against all the pro riders, but I think this is going to be an awesome experience. If anyone else in Melb. is interested in teaming up to give this a go, let me know. I'm sure we can hook up for some test rides, ideally I'd like to find someone of similar fitness/level to myself, that way I wont hold you up or visa versa.

I was planning to book some reasonable accommodation, and organise meals before hand as I'm not much for camping or lying under the stars, and I'm not a great chef either. :)

Tim.

G'day TIm,

I'm super keen to do the Australis too. Can't find anyone to commit to doing it with me. I'm not under any misguided impression that I have any chance of placing anywhere in the field but I am a keen rider. Recently did the CTS series here in Melb and have registered for the Kona 24h as a solo. Let me know if you'd like to chat more about the poss of taming up.

Cheers

Rob.

Graeme.

I am also looking for a ride buddy.
I live in SE Queensland and will be riding the course not to win but to finish.
Having said that I have a reasonable level of fitness and enjoy a fairly fast pace (most days).

I can be contacted on gh878@bigpond.com

UPDATED POST.............................................

I have now found a team mate thanks to this web site and have entered the race. :P :P :P
It only took 6 days for a reply. :P :P :P

Hey Graeme,

Bring on the Terra mate!

After registering I read the write-up/review for last years event in the the Aug/Sept issue of Mountain BIking Australia- stage one sounds tough, stage two sounds tough, stage three sounds tough.......

We of team iride 2.0 chatted last night and are open to teaming up with a third person if anyone else is in need of team mates. :D

Any tips on training for this thing

Rob.

Hey people,
I am looking for a ride partner for this event.
I am 29, and reasonably fit. I am located in the NE vic area.
My aim for the event this year is to finish it. Realistically, I would probably be a mid-field rider.
Let me know if you are interested in riding with me.
Shane.

Graeme,
I have sent you a PM, outlining my goals for the Australis,
Give me a call if you could to discuss things further.

Tim,
Have you found any one yet, Graeme may be offering a place, making his team a team of 3, where I would prefer a team of 2, as long as I can find a well matched rider.
PM me your no. if you could, and we can talk then.

Thanks guys,
Shane.

Also looking for a ride partner for the Terra in Super Masters...first-time in the event and reasonably fit for it. Ex distance runner 35 years and Mtn bike past 2 to 3 years and road cycling 8 years. Average technically but do like it when the road points uphill. Like to know fairly matched in fitness with any possible partner. Live east of Melbourne CBD.

Hi All,

I am looking for a 2011 team mate. I'm a South African living in Auckland NZ. Hoping for a mid field finish but no pressure. I have completed the 2005 - 2008 Cape Epics and know stage racing well.

If anyone is interested me please email me on loan(at)loanburger(dot)com

Super keen!

Cheers,
